Job Description

A Big Opportunity for ...

MAIN (CORE) DUTIES 

  • To receive and collate teacher requisitions for experiments

  • Delivering and collecting equipment from/to prep rooms and science labs.

  • Making up chemical solutions as needed.

  • Checking and maintaining classroom stock of basic chemical resources and refilling as required

  • Ensuring classrooms are stocked with basic lab equipment for simple experiments.

  • Organising local collection and deliveries of consumable resources for teaching.

  • Assembling apparatus and experiments and assisting with these as required.

  • Carrying out risk assessments for practical activities using CLEAPSS.

  • Organising, storing, and maintaining chemicals and lab equipment.

  • Providing technical support to students and teachers including health and safety guidance in accordance with CLEAPSS.

  • Ensuring periodic checking of first aid boxes, fire blankets and fire extinguishers are stocked, visible and in working order.

Job Requirements

  • Must have a degree in science related field (B.Sc in Chem/IC/Bio/Phys/Biotechnology).

  • Be able to communicate well in English.

  • Must be able to work well both under pressure and as part of a diverse and dynamic team.

  • Must be able to use computer software including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications and be able to use word processors and spreadsheets.

  • Ideally will have prior experience working in a laboratory setting and will be familiar with laboratory procedures.
