Job Purpose

The Architect Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all architectural design and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures that architectural works comply with approved designs, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, quality requirements, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate architectural design activities from concept development through construction and completion.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, material submissions, and samples.
  • Coordinate architectural works with structural, MEP, interior, and other disciplines to resolve design and construction issues.
  • Monitor site progress and ensure architectural works are executed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, design changes, and site issues.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project management teams.
  • Review and approve or recommend approval of shop drawings, material samples, method statements, and technical submissions.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and identify quality, design, and coordination issues.
  • Ensure that architectural works meet required quality standards and project requirements.
  • Monitor project schedules and coordinate with relevant teams to minimize delays.
  • Manage design changes and assess their impact on cost, schedule, quality, and project requirements.
  • Attend design coordination, progress, and technical meetings and follow up on outstanding actions.
  • Maintain proper records of drawings, submissions, approvals, revisions, and technical correspondence.
  • Support the preparation and review of project reports, progress updates, and architectural documentation.
  • Coordinate with authorities and relevant stakeholders when required.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to architects, engineers, coordinators, and other team members.
  • Ensure that all architectural works comply with applicable building codes, regulations, safety requirements, and project standards.
  • Assist with inspection, testing, snagging, handover, and project close-out activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Professional architectural registration or certification is preferred.
  • Typically 8–12+ years of relevant architectural experience, with significant experience in construction and project management.
  • Experience managing architectural teams and coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural design, construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
  • Experience with shop drawings, material approvals, RFIs, site inspections, and technical coordination.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and relevant architectural software.
