Job Description

A Big Opportunity for ...

1. Design Management & Execution
• Lead Design Development: Manage the design process from concept through to detailed design, tender documentation, and construction support, ensuring projects meet briefs, budgets, and timelines.
• Quality Assurance & Review: Oversee the production of architectural drawings, models, and presentations by the local team, ensuring high standards of quality, technical accuracy, and constructability.
• Technical Coordination: Coordinate with internal departments (Structural, MEP, Interior Design) and external consultants to ensure fully integrated design solutions.
• Compliance & Approvals: Ensure all designs adhere to Myanmar national building codes, local regulations, and international best practices. Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
• Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify and implement cost-effective design alternatives and value engineering opportunities without compromising design integrity.
2. Department Management & Team Leadership
• Team Supervision: As the 2IC, provide day-to-day supervision and direction to the architectural design staff, assigning tasks and managing workload to meet project needs.
• Mentorship & Training: Actively mentor and develop junior architects, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth. Facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure team members are up-to-date with local codes and best practices.
• Performance Management: Provide regular feedback and support performance reviews for team members in coordination with the Head of Department.
• Departmental Support: Assist the Head of Department in streamlining workflows, improving efficiency, and managing departmental resources and budgets.

3. Project Management & Stakeholder Liaison
• Project Leadership: Manage multiple projects concurrently, overseeing project plans, deliverables, and team output to ensure deadlines are met.
• Coordination & Communication: Act as a key liaison between the Head of Department, other internal teams, clients, and external consultants. Lead project meetings, prepare progress reports, and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Construction Support: Provide technical support to the construction teams, reviewing contractor submittals (RFIs, RFAs) and resolving on-site design issues.
4. Additional Duties
• Undertake any other tasks or special assignments delegated by top management or the MD to support organizational objectives.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a recognized university.
• Experience: A minimum of 12 years of post-graduate experience in architectural design and project management, preferably within a real estate developer or a leading architectural firm.
• Technical Skills:
o High proficiency in architectural design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
o Strong working knowledge of Myanmar building codes and construction norms.
• Soft Skills:
o Proven leadership and team management abilities.
o Exceptional communication and presentation skills in both Burmese and English.
o Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex design and coordination issues.
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
