The Assistant Procurement Manager is responsible for supporting the Procurement Manager to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing of construction materials, equipment, and services for project sites, while maintaining quality and compliance with company standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • 
Support in preparing and executing procurement plans in alignment with project requirements
  • Receive and verify Purchase Requisition (PR) from project sites or departments
  • Source, collect, and evaluate quotations from suppliers/vendors
  • Conduct price comparison and vendor evaluation for selection
  • Assist in price negotiation and finalizing procurement terms
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (PO) and follow up for approvals
Monitor and follow up delivery schedule to ensure timely arrival of materials
  • Coordinate with Inventory/Store Team to manage stock levels efficiently
  • Maintain and update Approved Vendor List and Supplier Performance Records
  • Ensure procurement activities adhere to company policies, compliance, and quality standards
  • Conduct regular market surveys and price updates for major materials
  • Prepare monthly procurement reports including cost-saving analysis
  • Collaborate with relevant departments (Engineering / Site / Finance / Store)
  • Maintain proper documentation for internal/external audit requirements

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • 
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management / Supply Chain / Engineering (Civil preferred)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Procurement/Purchasing within the Construction Industry

 

Skills & Competencies

  • 
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Good understanding of construction materials and supply chain processes

  • Knowledge of cost control and cost-saving strategies
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel preferred) and ERP/Procurement Systems
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Strong follow-up and problem-solving abilities
