Job Description

An Excellent Opportunity for ...

  • Oversee day-to-day electrical operations of the solar PV plant.
  • Ensure maximum plant availability, generation efficiency, and performance ratio (PR).
  • Monitor plant performance data.
  • Implement corrective and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Lead fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of electrical failures.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Supervise inverter maintenance, transformer testing, switchgear inspection, and protection relay testing.
  • Ensure timely calibration and testing of meters, and protection systems.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and critical components planning.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and grid codes.
  • Implement and enforce Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Conduct electrical safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with local energy regulations and environmental standards.
  • Lead and supervise electrical engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and skill development planning.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly generation and performance reports.
  • Maintain technical documentation, single-line diagrams (SLD), and O&M manuals.
  • Support management in budgeting and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Manage grid disturbances and ensure system stability.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Master’s degree in Power Systems (preferred).
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in power plant operations.
  • At least 3–5 years in solar PV plant O&M (utility-scale preferred).
  • Experience in handling 33kV/66kV/132kV substations and grid interconnection.
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • Solar PV systems (modules, inverters, combiner boxes)
    • Transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers
    • Grid synchronization and power quality
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Decision-making under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • High integrity and accountability.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive.
  • Ability to work in remote plant locations.
  • Willingness to be on-call for emergency breakdowns
