The Compliance Officer is responsible for liaising with the FIU regarding the AML / CFT and reporting to his / her bank management team.
Develops, administers and monitors programs that ensure MCB’s compliance with laws, regulations and rules governing operations and product offerings
Researches central banking laws and regulations, reviews MCB’s policies and procedures, and ensures the Bank’s compliance with laws and regulations.
Understanding of relevant CBM laws, Anti- Money Laundering Laws.
Have system knowledge of AML /CFT.
Drafting new occasional Policy, Procedure, SOP.
Provides Chief Risk Officer with information to accurately determine the Bank’s extent of compliance. Schedules meetings with departments and supervisors, as necessary, to provide information on compliance changes that affect them.
Monitoring daily TTR/ STR transactions reporting to FIU online reporting system.
Reviewing correspondent banking Questionnaire and Wolfsberg Group Questionnaire.
Responsible for scheduling compliance audits and report findings to the Head of Integrated Risk.
Conducts interviews and investigates all internal and external fraud complaints.
Issuing departmental memo, instruction and formal letters to bank branches.
Participates in the annual enterprise-wide risk assessment in order to set an appropriate audit and compliance review schedule and scope for the coming year.
Communicates audit findings and management recommendations for correction to the Audit -Committee of the Board of Directors on a periodic basis.
Manages the Bank’s response to complaints regarding consumer compliance and other issues.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the Bank’s reputation and safeguarding the Brand, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviors, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience/ Bachelor in Law
8+ years of experience in compliance, legal or other control-related function in the financial services firm or regulatory organization
Strong communication, critical thinking, relationship management, and project management skills
Understanding of Central Bank of Myanmar regulations
strong working knowledge of function/ business/product supported and
the related operations and financial requirements
