The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to ensure cleanliness, order, and appearance standards are maintained throughout the property    (residential facility). This role includes managing staff, inventory, budgets, and ensuring guest satisfaction through consistent service quality.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations, including room cleaning, laundry, and public area maintenance.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff performance.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met.
  • Manage housekeeping inventory, including linen, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
  • Schedule staff shifts and manage attendance and productivity.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints related to housekeeping services.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Develop and implement cleaning procedures and quality assurance programs.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Front Office, Maintenance) for seamless operations.
  • Prepare and manage the housekeeping budget and cost control measures.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of cleaning equipment.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Housekeeping Operations, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of housekeeping experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Experience in hotels, resorts, hospitals, residence or similar environments is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, conflict and problem solving
  • Knowledge of housekeeping equipment and chemical usage.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in housekeeping software or basic MS Office tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift light to moderately heavy items (e.g., linen bags, supplies).
