Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate all Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) risks in the workplace and propose suitable control measures to reduce risk to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP).
  • Establish and implement HSSE Management System in consultation with Operations and Maintenance.
  • Investigate, report and share lessons learned on any workplace accidents, incidents or significant near miss.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities and stakeholders on all matters pertaining to HSSE.
  • Maintain site’s certification to OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 Standards.
  • Conduct HSSE training programs and induction.
  • Communicate HSSE action plans, concerns and decisions to respective employees and contractors.
  • Carry out daily HSSE inspections and follow-up on any deficiencies noted.
  • Follow-up on medical treatment for any casualty. Liaise with appointed medical facility on first-aid and medical treatments.
  • Facilitate the inspection and maintenance of Heavy Equipment and Machinery/Power tools during pre-deployment and during periodic inspection. 
  • Implement proactive measures to curb accident/incident, unsafe acts/conditions through promotions, campaigns, pre-task talks, toolbox meeting and training. 
  • Maintain site HSSE records (audit, inspection, meetings, incidents, tool box talks, pre-job start talk etc.).
  • Institute Consequence Management Program to curb HSSE lapses.

Job Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the similar role especially in the Power or Oil & Gas industry.
  • Familiar with local HSE legislation and International Standards (e.g. ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, etc.)
  • Fulfil the qualification, experience and competency required by local authority to act as the HSE Officer.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and local language.
  • Able to work on site in a multi-cultural work community.
