Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of logistics best practices and trends
• Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of the logistics operation
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the logistics team, including scheduling, route planning, and resource allocation
• Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to ensure that the logistics operation is meeting targets and objectives
• troubleshoot issues and problems as they arise, and develop creative solutions to overcome challenges
• Liaise with other departments within the organization to ensure smooth communication and coordination of activities
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers
• manage the budget for the logistics operation, and control costs where possible
• Prepare reports and presentations for upper management on the status of the logistics operation
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement change initiatives
• Train and develop staff members, and provide mentorship and guidance as needed
• Stay abreast of industry developments and technological advancements that could impact the logistics operation

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field
• 5+ years experience in a logistics operations role
• Proven track record of successful project management
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
• In-depth understanding of transportation regulations
• Familiarity with import/export procedures and documentation
