Job Overview

The Technology teacher reports to the Head of School and is responsible for providing technology instruction to students in Kinder garten-2 through Grade 6. The Technology teacher needs to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and strong classroom management as well as be an excellent communicator who possesses knowledge about a wide variety of resources to support classroom teachers in integrating the core curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and Deliver Lesson Plans

• Plan, develop, and evaluate lessons for basic computer, keyboard, and internet skills for students in Kindergarte-2 through Grade 6.
• Develop innovative lessons to challenge learners that include differentiation techniques and integrate core content objectives
• Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, projects, etc.

Classroom Management

• Promote a positive learning environment that includes behavioral management techniques appropriate to the needs of all students

Internet Safety

• Teach internet safety including personal responsibility for technology use
• Be aware of and monitor internet usage for students as outlined by Yangon American’s Acceptable Use Policy

Academic Support

• Work collaboratively with the other staff members in the building to assist them with educational technology needs
• Collaborate with the building principal and curriculum coordinator on technology updates
• Perform duties assigned by the administration Keep abreast of developments in the technology field by reading literature/journals, talking with colleagues, and professional development

Community Support

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Assist students in connecting to technological principles in the real world

• Bachelor’s degree in Education (Technology Specialist endorsement preferred)
• A valid teaching credential from your home country
• Outstanding organizational and interpersonal communication skills
• A positive attitude and desire to contribute to a growing team
