On behalf of our Client, a leading freight forwarder. We are looking for a: Transport Manager (Freight Forwarding) to be based at their offices in Yangon, Myanmar.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Creates a sense of awareness with the management on strategic transportation directions to ensure competitive advantage
• Interacts with the relevant levels within the client organization in order to understand and be aligned to the client perspective
• Maintains strong relationship with the transport suppliers and identifies their current capabilities and develops them by giving technical input to vehicle owners and conducting training and awareness sessions for delivery crew
• Maintains a comprehensive network to provide required technical input to the procurement function to register transport service providers that fulfil company criteria to cater transport requirements
• Interacts with transport related regulatory and professional bodies to be updated with latest trends and developments in transportation in order to share same with the stakeholders
• Develops and establishes corporate policies and processes to continually improve the service standards in distribution to cater the client requirements while safe guarding the company interest
• Designs and implements action plans to comply with the directions given by the regulatory and the professional bodies
• Promotes best practices on transportation and distribution among transport coordinators, vehicle crew, fleet owners by conducting regular awareness sessions to maintain high service levels

Job Requirements

• University degree in any major subject
• At least (5) years’ experience in related position
• Professional qualification related with logistics management (or) transportation management is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge of transportation and vendor management
• Excellent knowledge about Myanmar map, routes and transportation system of different areas
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent command of the English Language
• Having a valid driving license
