The primary purpose of this role is to ensure seamless operation, reliability, and performance of the network by leading 24x7 surveillance, maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs), and driving efficient fault resolution processes. The role aims to uphold high standards of service availability, manage vendor performance, optimize operational costs, and ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements. Additionally, the role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency through automation, effective resource management, and proactive planning to support business continuity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Ensure uninterrupted NOC functionality and 24x7 network surveillance.
  • Monitor and maintain network KPIs within set thresholds, addressing any performance degradations promptly.
  • Collaborate with Managed Services (MS) providers, tower companies, optical fiber vendors, satellite vendors, and regional teams to resolve faults quickly.
  • Analyze recurring faults and propose improvements to reduce fault frequency and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
  • Work closely with the network planning team to ensure appropriate capacity dimensioning and lifecycle management of network elements.
  • Prepare and publish regular reports (daily/weekly/monthly/yearly) on network availability, performance KPIs, SLAs, MTTR, and other metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance against agreed terms and SLAs, ensuring governance controls are in place.
  • Lead regular governance meetings and enforce performance improvement plans where needed.
  • Reconcile vendor performance and sign off on SLAs.
  • Ensure high-availability, secure, and high-performance delivery of B2B services.
  • Develop and implement a robust Business Continuity Plan to ensure uninterrupted services in any circumstance.
  • Ensure compliance with telecom regulatory guidelines, data protection standards, and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure all configurations comply with license agreements.
  • Manage network-related customer complaints and ensure resolution within SLA timelines.
  • Drive operational efficiency by developing tools and automating operations for routine tasks.
  • Oversee OSS dimensioning and ensure the functionality of all network elements and secure node access control.
  • Plan and control budgets related to MS, AMC, and O&M costs, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization.
  • Ensure the availability of spare parts across all depots for smooth operations.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering / Computer Science / Electrical/Electronics Engineering / Information Technology.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certifications.
  • Certified in network tools such as NMS/OSS systems.

Experience

  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in network operations, telecommunication or IT infrastructure management.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in managing or leading NOC operations in a 24x7 environment.
  • Work level agreement and service level agreement understanding
  • Demonstrated experiences in coordinating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure operational excellence.
  • Proven track record in budget management, cost optimization, and resource planning.

Key Skillsets (3 - 5 skillsets)

  1. Strong knowledge of network technologies (e.g., optical fiber, wireless, IP/MPLS, OSS/BSS system).
  2. Experience in handling network performance monitoring tools and fault management systems.
  3. Familiarity with managing vendors and SLAs in telecommunications or similar technical domain.
  4. Experience in analyzing recurring issues, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to reduce fault occurrence and MTTR.
  5. Hands-on experience with developing or implementing automation tools for operational efficiency
  6. Familiarity with licensing agreements, compliance standards, and business continuity planning in the telecom industry.
