FINAL JUDGES NAMED FOR MYANMAR EMPLOYER AWARDS 2017

7 NOVEMBER, 2017 - YANGON, MYANMAR: JobNet is proud to announce that eleven esteemed judges participated in evaluating the applications for the first annual Myanmar Employer Awards 2017. Many of Myanmar’s most respected companies competed across several awards categories to establish themselves as outstanding places to work.

THE FINAL JUDGES

The judging process was overseen by Dr. Aung Tun Thet, Former Economic Advisor and a respected HR Practitioner. Prof. Dr. Aung Tun Thet served as the former Economic Advisor to the President of Myanmar and was a member of the President's National Economic and Social Advisory Council. He is also a Member of Myanmar Investment Commission, Advisor of Union of Myanmar Federation of Commerce and Industries.  Added to that, Prof. Aung serves as a Member of Myanmar Press Council.   He holds the position of Senior Advisor of the UN Resident Coordinator's Office in Yangon, Myanmar and is a Visiting Professor at Yangon Institute of Economics, Yangon University, and the National Defence College.

MS. SHWE YEE WIN LEI (GOLDIE)
Designated Head of HR - PTTEP
Shwe Yee Win Lei (Goldie) is a Myanmar HR practitioner with a 21-year solid background in Human Resources Management and excellent all-round strategic management advisory skills for organizational development.  She worked for several different international organizations such as the Korean Embassy, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, British American Tobacco, the American Embassy and Roche Pharmaceuticals.  Until recently, she was the  Chief People Officer of Telenor Myanmar, crafting overall strategic direction of the organization as part of the management team.

MS. CINDY DERMAWAN
Head of Talent and Learning Management, Diversity and Inclusion - Citibank Singapore
Cindy Dermawan was appointed the Head of Talent and Learning Management, Diversity and Inclusion at Citibank Singapore in June 2015. In this role, Cindy provides leadership and strategy for the Talent and Learning space and leads the Diversity and Inclusion effort for Citi Singapore. Cindy is responsible for talent management and succession planning at the country leadership level, as well as professional and leadership development programmes for employees across all levels.

Back in 2010, Cindy took on a Group Learning and Development Programme Manager role in Standard Chartered Bank, where she was responsible for managing the Consumer Banking – Branch Manager Programmes. Cindy returned to Citi in 2011 and has held various leadership roles in Learning Development and Talent Management since. She holds a Master of Arts in Organisational Communications and Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens.

MS. HUYNH THU HUONG
CEO and Founder of Human Resource Business Vietnam, and Legal Representative of Towers Watson Vietnam
Prior to Willis Towers Watson and Human Resources Business Vietnam, Huong was a University and English lecturer at the University of Education; Chief Representative of Hotex International; Logistics, Government Relations and HR Manager of ExxonMobil Vietnam; External Affairs, Personnel and Organization Manager of Effem Foods Vietnam (a Mars Inc. company); and Human Resources and Communications Director of Zuellig Pharma Vietnam. Huong holds an MBA (University of Hawaii at Manoa) and is a Beta Gamma Sigma member with an outstanding academic record.

MR. VARUN BHATIA
Chief People & Culture Officer - Air Asia
Varun is a senior Human Resources executive with over 25 years of experience in large, global, matrixed companies across N. America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Currently the Chief People & Culture Officer of AirAsia, Varun brings a very unique global perspective to Human Resources, having worked in multiple 100+ year old iconic companies such as Tata, Gillette, P&G, Kraft foods and Levi Strauss across diverse cultures and countries having lived in Delhi, London, Singapore, Boston and San Francisco.

MR. MYO THAN
Director of Human Resources - edotco Myanmar
Mr. Myo Than currently serves as the newly appointed Human Resources Director for edotco Myanmar. Previously, he spent a number of years at Ooredoo Myanmar, serving as the Director of Talent Development. In his career spanning over 20 years, U Myo Than held a number of senior roles in a number of international firms across various sectors. U Myo Than is an associate member of the CIPD, “Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development”, United Kingdom. He has been in a specialist role in the areas of learning and development in the hospitality industry for “ACCOR Hotels and Resorts” for over six years across twelve countries and has trained more than 5000+ employees in both Far East and South East Asia.

MR. WIN MYINT AUNG
HR Director - FrieslandCampina Myanmar
Win Myint Aung has a wide range of commercial and leadership experiences in trade marketing, sales and business development within the FMCG and pharmaceutical industries before starting his career in HR. He has been working as head of HR for the last eight years and is currently working with FrieslandCampina Myanmar. His previous employers are DKSH group and British American Tobacco. Win Myint Aung holds an MBA (University of Yangon) and a Master of Science degree (London School of Economics). He joined the Wharton Fellows Community in October 2015.

MS. CECILE UMAÑA
Chief Human Resource Officer - Ooredoo Myanmar
Cecile has over 23 years of experience in Human Resources and Internal Communications in Multinational Companies in the Technology, Telecommunications, FMCG, Call Center, BPO, Service and Manufacturing sectors across Latin America, Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
Cecile is originally from Costa Rica, Latin America and has worked outside her country since early 1994. Throughout her career, she has accumulated a wealth of experience in areas such as Talent Management, Learning & Development, Change Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Talent Acquisition, Labor Relations, Internal Communications, Compliance & Ethics, Compensation & Benefits as well as Health and Safety.

 

 

MS. WINNIE LAM
COO, Colliers International, Vietnam
Winnie has been working in the region for the past 13 years.  She specializes in organizational efficiency & development and is an expert HR strategist.  Winnie was also the organizer of the first Best Employer Awards 2006 in Vietnam under Navigos Group Vietnam where she was the Director for HR Advisory Services.

MS. ROWENA SY
Head of HR - Unilever Myanmar
Rowena Sy has over 15 years of human resource management & generalist experience. Her background spans across Strategic Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition and Development, Rewards and Organizational Design, Project Management, Employee Relations, Restructuring, Learning and Culture Transformation. She has held both country and regional roles throughout her HR career in the Philippines, Malaysia and Myanmar.  Passionate in coaching, people development, and team collaboration, Rowena is currently Head of HR for Unilever Myanmar where she leads the overall people agenda for the organization. She is also a mother to 2 boys, ages 10 and 7.

MS. MAY SABAI WIN (JASMINE)

Jasmine has dedicated over 20 years working in the Human Resource function in Myanmar Brewery Limited (“MBL”) and is currently the Head of Human Resource in MBL. As head of Human Resource in one of the most enterprising and highly admired organizations in Myanmar, she has relentlessly focused on building an exceptional place for MBL employees to work by creating a corporate culture which brings out the best in people.
