Final judging day for 2018 Myanmar Employer Awards

The winners of the second annual Myanmar Employer Awards (MEA) are one step closer to being revealed with the final judging day held on Friday 12th October,” said Mr Justin Sway, CEO of JobNet.com.mm, the MEA’s supporting partner.

Six international judges arrived in Yangon to join their six Myanmar-based judges. Together they reviewed and scored every shortlisted application. Presiding over the proceedings was esteemed Head Judge, Dr Aung Tun Thet, a former Economic Advisor to the President of Myanmar, and the MEA’s verifying partner, leading international professional services firm, Deloitte Touche Myanmar Vigour Advisory.

Entries in the MEA undergo a rigorous judging process that goes through three separate rounds, and a total of 24 judges. At every stage, different judging panels comprising experts and directors in the field of human resource management assess and score the entries.

“The MEA committee, responsible for organizing the awards program and gala awards night, are especially grateful to the commitment shown by all of the judges,” said Mr Sway, “The distinction of winning a Myanmar Employer Award and the effect this has on employee pride and employer brand awareness, has resulted in twice the number of companies competing across three times the number of categories in 2018 compared with the inaugural awards in 2017.”

The finalists in the 2018 MEA will be announced on Friday 19th October, when voting will open for the highly-desired People’s Choice category. On Friday 30th November the overall winners of every category will be announced at a black tie, gala ball at the Novotel Yangon Max.
