MYANMAR EMPLOYER AWARDS 2017 (POWERED BY JOBNET) EXPLAINS “BEST LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT" AWARD

MYANMAR’S BEST LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES SHOWCASE THEIR EMPLOYER EXCELLENCE IN FIRST ANNUAL COMPETITION

22 NOVEMBER, 2017 - YANGON, MYANMAR: JobNet is happy to announce that several local and international companies have applied for the “Best Learning and Development” award as part of the Myanmar Employer Awards 2017. Every career needs a solid foundation; for this award, the judges are recognizing that learning doesn’t stop when a student graduates. Organisations that have a sound learning and development or management trainee plan that understands and actively supports life-long learning beyond the initial recruitment process, are the companies that create the type of employees who share new ideas, innovate, and move quickly up the ladder to success since they are always keeping their skill set up to date.

“This award focuses on how companies encourage individual life-long learning for employees at all levels within the firm,” said Matt De Luca, Managing Director of JobNet.com.mm. He went on to say, “The applications show that the skill sets required today are vastly different than what was required just a few years ago. Industries, like finance, accounting, technology and engineering, are requiring skills that have never existed before in Myanmar. The jobs of tomorrow will require an even more sophisticated set of knowledge and experience. Some of the efforts and outcomes have been really promising. Some focus on developing formal classroom-based programs with discrete training programs, while others focus on individual external learning programs and aligning their new knowledge with company goals. The judges had a very difficult time selecting the best of the best in this category.”
