POSITION PURPOSE
Wave Money is a ‘mobile money’ financial services organization in Myanmar, headquartered in Yangon.
Wave Money is moving to a new IT stack, which involves engaging a cloud / local virtualized data center provider capable of providing a comprehensive, cost-effective hosting solution, implementing new middleware, and restructuring its core systems and associated databases.

The Platform Lead:
• Will ensure all Wave technical, infrastructure and support services are delivered effectively for the project.
• Is responsible for the establishment and ongoing management of a quality, effective and efficient operational environment including all technical support required to ensure successful operation of all production systems.
Is responsible for managing a team of resources and vendors to implement the data center services, new middleware and database set up and any underlying technologies required to host the applications.


KEY RESULT AREA
Delivery of new environments (test, pre-prod, prod and DR) and operational agreements with the vendors.
Ensure organisation maintains excellent functioning relationships with platform and software vendors.
Provide technical architecture and integration support across the applications/environements
Provide application middleware support for various application/channel integrations
Work closely with the applications solutions lead and vendors to ensure end to end interoperability
Positive engagement with technology and non-technology stakeholders which drives outcomes.
Exhibit strong leadership capability and staff development and engagement to improve the overall performance of the Technology practice and future-proof its success.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Report to the Head of Platform Service and the wider Organisation on status updates, and decisions
2. Deliver MFS platform requirements and associated eco-system to meet current and future business requirements, including prioritization of requirements from multiple departments
3. Perform technical system review of third party and custom-built applications
4. Ensure functional, system and architectural integrity of Financial Services technology platforms
5. Ensure effective and efficient vendor management
6. Ensure effective change control and configuration management is implemented for all installations, un-installs, updates and changes
7. Ensure organizations hardware and systems comply with relevant legislations and policies
8. Ensure the information security of the systems is according to requirements and Regulation.
9. Work in both Agile and Waterfall methodology where it makes sense.
10. Plan and lead performance, stress and other testing required on the system infrastructure
11. Manage and execute system/application installation, patching, rollouts, releases and upgrades
12. Troubleshoot system and infrastructure related issues
13. Develop new IT operating model procedures and process

EXPERIENCE, FUNCTIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE AREAS
• Experience: Minimum 5-8 years successfully managing and deployment of IT systems implementation and integration.
• Experience working with multiple project teams and capabilities (business, core applications, infrastructure, middleware, mobile apps)
• Functional skills and knowledge areas:
• Excellent system, application and network troubleshooting skills and driving problems and issues to resolution
• Experience with VMware vCloud Director and ESX
• Excellent Kubernetes, Docker and Rancher administration
• Proficient in technologies such as server operating systems, virtualization, application, database
• Experience with ETL / Oracle Data Guard and Active Data Guard / SQL-based databases
• Hands on experience with Mobile / Financial Services, Telecom BSS&VAS platform, OR Banking IT services.
