Job Purpose

The Architect Coordinator is responsible for coordinating architectural design, documentation, and construction activities among the design team, consultants, contractors, and other disciplines. The role ensures that architectural information is properly coordinated, issued on time, and implemented in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate architectural works with structural, MEP, interior, landscape, and other disciplines.
    • Review architectural drawings and ensure consistency between different disciplines.
    • Coordinate and review shop drawings, material submissions, samples, and technical documents.
    • Check shop drawings against approved design drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
    • Prepare and respond to RFIs, technical queries, and design coordination issues.
    • Identify clashes and discrepancies between architectural and other disciplines and coordinate their resolution.
    • Follow up with consultants and contractors regarding outstanding drawings, submissions, and technical issues.
    • Attend design coordination, site, and progress meetings and prepare or follow up on action items.
    • Monitor the status of architectural submissions and maintain an updated submission tracker.
    • Coordinate drawing revisions and ensure that the latest approved drawings are properly distributed to relevant parties.
    • Conduct site inspections to verify that architectural works comply with approved drawings and specifications.
    • Report architectural discrepancies, defects, and construction issues to the Architect Manager.
    • Coordinate design changes and ensure that revised information is communicated to the relevant teams.
    • Assist in reviewing construction details and proposing practical solutions to site issues.
    • Maintain proper records of drawings, approvals, RFIs, material submissions, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
    • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure architectural works are carried out according to the approved design.
    • Assist with inspections, snagging, testing, handover, and project close-out documentation.
    • Support the Architect Manager in monitoring architectural progress and resolving coordination issues.

      Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

      • Timely coordination and submission of architectural documents.
      • Accuracy and quality of drawing and shop drawing reviews.
      • Effective resolution of architectural and multidisciplinary coordination issues.
      • Reduction of drawing discrepancies, clashes, and rework.
      • Timely response to RFIs and technical queries.
      • Compliance of site works with approved architectural drawings and specifications.
      • Proper maintenance of architectural documentation and trackers.
      • Effective communication and coordination with consultants and contractors.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
    • Approximately 5–8 years of relevant architectural experience, preferably with construction or consultancy experience.
    • Experience in architectural coordination, shop drawing review, and site coordination.
    • Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams.
    • Good knowledge of architectural construction details, materials, and methods.
    • Knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and project specifications.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.
