Job Purpose

The AutoCAD Operator is responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining accurate architectural and technical drawings using AutoCAD. The role supports architects, engineers, coordinators, and project teams by producing drawings in accordance with project requirements, approved designs, specifications, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare architectural and technical drawings using AutoCAD based on design information and instructions.
• Develop plans, elevations, sections, details, layouts, and other required drawings.
• Update drawings according to design revisions, site conditions, and comments from architects, consultants, and contractors.
• Revise and maintain drawings according to the latest approved information.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, properly dimensioned, and follow the required drawing standards.
• Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, MEP, and other relevant disciplines.
• Assist in preparing shop drawings, as-built drawings, coordination drawings, and construction details.
• Incorporate comments from the Architect, Architect Coordinator, consultants, and project team into drawings.
• Check drawings for errors, discrepancies, missing information, and coordination issues before submission.
• Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision codes, titles, and document control.
• Keep an organized record of current and superseded drawings.
• Assist with printing, plotting, PDF preparation, and drawing submissions when required.
• Conduct site measurements and update drawings based on actual site conditions when necessary.
• Support the project team in preparing drawings for site work, inspections, and handover.
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure drawings are issued according to the project schedule.
• Perform other drafting and documentation duties as assigned by the Architect Manager or Architect Coordinator.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience as an AutoCAD Operator or Architectural Drafter.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and technical drawing standards.
• Experience in architectural or construction projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of architectural drawings, construction details, and building materials.
• Knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
