Job Summary            : The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the growth of GEP Myanmar identifying new business opportunities. This role includes strategic planning, market analysis, and coordination with internal/External teams/individuals to successfully execute power/energy projects as well as ad hoc business activities as needed or instructive by management.

  • Develop and implement strategies to expand GEP’s presence in the market and strengthen its position within the renewable energy industry in Myanmar.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activities in the energy sector.
  • Support the Employer in the implementation, planning, and construction phases of both existing and new projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Evaluate the financial viability of potential deals, projects, and investments.
  • Analyze revenue streams, cost structures, and profitability of business units or new ventures.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue enhancement strategies.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
  • Support financial planning efforts related to business development activities.
  • To assist with project implementation from its planning stage, execution stage etc.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and project management teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of energy projects.
  • Monitoring project progress and providing operational support during project implementation and liaising with all parties involved, to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, private companies, banks, financial institutions as well as and partners in the energy industry.
  • Develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and secure new business projects in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends and growth areas.
  • Provide insights into market opportunities and help shape the strategic direction of GEP’s business development efforts.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and policies affecting the energy sector in Myanmar.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities and market performance for senior management.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations based on market insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in administrative tasks as requested by the Management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Industrial Engineer, Electrical Engineer or a related field.
  • Experience studying abroad is highly preferred.
  • 3-7 years of experience in business development, planning, or operations management.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including proficiency in project financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be fluent in excel with all four skills in English. Must be able to communicate with international stakeholders.
  • Must be able to translate to English to Myanmar and Myanmar to English.
  • Familiarity with the Myanmar market and business landscape.
  • Must be articulate, organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-changing entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to travel both domestically and internationally as required and instructed by Managements
