Job Description

Carries out daily telecommunication and IT checks, inspection and maintenance, including satelitte systems monitoring and adjustment.
Maintains relevant spare parts and completes a daily log of system performance and issues for reporting to the Instruments and DCS Supervisor.
Allocates and Maintains on-site IP addresses, PABX numbers and tests all equipment, including emergency communications equipment.
Ensures compliance during periods of ‘radio silence’ by administering removal of portable communications devices from service.
Co-ordinates with onshore Communications and IT department for upgrades and software changes.
Maintains lists of hand held radios for SHP Operations & Drilling and reports to Instruments and DCS Supervisor.
Carries out non intrusive maintenance of Platform related communications and IT equipment.
Ensures that all work conducted is done in a safe manner, utilising all safety equipment & PPE necessary to complete the specific work.
Know & Understand role within the Emergtency Response Organisation at site and participate in an emergency situation & in emergency exercises / drills.
Understands all emergency back-up telecommunications methods and broadcasting protocols.
Carries out daily telecommunication and IT checks.
Assists with the upkeep of CMMS relating to Comms and IT equipment and systems and the close out of Work Orders as required.
Maintains a daily log of all communications systemns parameters and reports on any reduced capabilities.
Ensures compliance during periods of ‘radio silence’ and maintains a register for all mobile radio equipment.
Maintain registers of all communications devices, system components, performance and degredation issues.
Carries out maintenance and inspection of Platform related communications and IT equipment, as required.
Maintains the facility PA system, master clock, GPS, entertainment and other systems that require radio frequency or micro-wave transmission and reception.
Conducts additional tasks as required by the Instruments and DCS supervisor.
Provides assistance to the Instruments discipline team, within capabilities, as required by the Instruments and DCS Supervisor.

Fluency in English both written & spoken with good personal / interpersonal skills.
Culturally aware with experience of working with multi-national workforces.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely within an established Safety Management System.
