Position Summary

The Deputy Chief Financial Officer supports the CFO in leading the financial strategy, governance, and overall financial management of the organization. This role oversees financial planning, reporting, investment analysis, treasury functions, internal controls, and financial operations. The Deputy CFO acts as the second-in-command of the Finance Division, provides strategic insights for business decisions, and ensures strong financial discipline across all business units. The role also represents the CFO when needed.

Key responsibilities summary,

  1. Support the CFO in developing long-term financial strategies, business plans, and strategic initiatives.
  2. Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  3. Conduct financial and investment analysis (ROI, NPV, IRR) for CAPEX, new projects, and expansion opportunities.
  4. Evaluate investment proposals, feasibility studies, and financial models to support decision-making.
  5. Monitor financial performance of ongoing investment projects and report variances to management.
  6. Recommend optimal project financing structures (equity, debt, JV, grants) and funding strategies.
  7. Liaise with banks, investors, and external partners for financing, loans, and financial agreements.
  8. Oversee accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with IFRS/local accounting standards.
  9. Ensure timely management reports for the CEO, Board, and key stakeholders.
  10. Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and financial governance.
  11. Strengthen internal controls and oversee internal/external audits with follow-up actions.
  12. Manage cash flow, liquidity, treasury operations, loan facilities, and working capital.
  13. Supervise daily financial operations including accounting and taxation.
  14. Improve financial systems, Odoo processes, reporting frameworks, and drive cost optimization.
  15. Lead, coach, and develop the finance team while representing the CFO when required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (mandatory).
  • Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CFA) highly desirable.
  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in finance or corporate finance roles.
  • Minimum 5 years in senior finance leadership positions (Finance Manager, Head of Finance, Financial Controller).
  • Experience in investment appraisal, project finance, and large-scale business operations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and financial governance.
