Job Description

Edify is searching for a Farm Operations Manager who will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities:
1. Effectively manage operations under large scale contract farming project in Mandalay area, Myanmar with possible expansion to other areas
2. Develop annual implementation plans for Organic Cotton programme and ensure it is implemented in a timely, comprehensive and compliant manner with full traceability and integrity
3. Organize procurement of raw cotton as per agreed conditions
4. Provide support and coordinate annual capacity building plans for staff and farmers(training/demonstration plots etc.) and contribute to their effective implementation in the project area
5. Ensure that the farm project expenditures are within the allocated budget and financial resources are effectively used and associated reporting on the budget is timely done
6. Assume responsibility for ensuring that all information and data as required for organic certification/verification standards are collected in a timely manner, verified and analyzed in accordance with requirements within the approved standards
7. Ensure timely escalation of any perceived challenges related to farm project implementation

Job Requirements

Requirements:
1. At least 5 years working experience, with at least 3 years in contract farming management, under organic or other internationally certified scheme
2. Exlerience in managing farm projects in rural settings
3. Experience in building and managing teams
4. Experience in managing farm information and data, certification requirements
5. Strong financial literary skills and ICT skills
6. University Degree in Agriculture or equivalent higher education qualification, preferably study or work experience abroad in agriculture related field
7. Fluent communication skills in Myanmar and English
Technical knowledge about irrigation systems(particularly sprinkler-based system) is desirable
8. Willingness to stay/ frequently travel in the project area, carry out administrative tasks with the ability to multitask,work overtime if needed
