Summary

The Field Service Technician delivers hands-on technical installation, on-site commissioning, field diagnostics, and after-sales warranty repair across residential, commercial, and industrial energy storage systems. This role bridges field installation and warranty troubleshooting, serving as the frontline technical specialist on site. The technician will participate in specialized manufacturer technical trainings in China, mastering board-level diagnostics, firmware calibration, and advanced BESS commissioning, and transferring technical knowledge to the local engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute structural mounting, assembling roof/ground mounting rails, securing solar PV modules, and anchoring inverter and battery enclosures.
• Run DC solar string cabling, conduit piping, and AC grid interconnections, ensuring clean terminations with heavy-duty crimped electrical lugs.
• Wire and integrate AC/DC distribution boxes, circuit breakers, surge protection devices (SPDs), and rapid shutdown systems.
• Perform pre-commissioning checks, insulation resistance tests, open-circuit voltage (Voc) verification, and full-system energization.
• Respond to escalated installer helpdesk calls and on-site service tickets to resolve operational faults.
• Diagnose solar inverter error codes, investigate grid-synchronization anomalies, and service failed internal components (cooling fans, display modules, and PCB boards).
• Troubleshoot LiFePO4 battery management systems (BMS), addressing cell imbalances, communication faults (CAN / RS485 / Modbus), and capacity degradation.
• Replace defective components on site in coordination with the After-sales Service Center and manage reverse logistics for warranty claim items.
• Travel to manufacturer production facilities and R&D centers in China for intensive hands-on training on advanced power electronics, firmware programming, and BESS architecture.
• Conduct internal knowledge-transfer sessions and draft standardized standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the local engineering and technician team upon return.
• Interface directly with manufacturer engineering teams in English to report recurrent component defects, log firmware bugs, and review field reliability metrics.
• Adhere 100% to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, electrical lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and working-at-height safety regulations.
• Maintain, test, and calibrate company-issued installation and diagnostic tools, including multimeters, solar clamp meters, torque wrenches, and crimping tools.
• Track service vehicle spare parts buffer stock, ensuring field inventory for emergency repairs is documented and replenished.

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (AGTI / B.Tech / B.E.) in Electrical Power Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline.
• Work Experience: Minimum 1 to 2+ years of hands-on experience in solar PV installation, power electronics repair, electrical maintenance, or industrial control wiring.
• Language Proficiency: Professional working proficiency (oral and written). Must be capable of understanding technical training sessions in English in China, reading technical schematics and product service manuals, and writing field incident reports.
• Solid understanding of AC/DC electrical principles, inverter fault topology, and LiFePO4/BMS communication protocols.
• Proficiency in handling electrical testing instruments (multimeters, clamp meters, earth resistance testers, and insulation testers).
• Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams (SLD) and wiring schematics.
• Valid passport (or eligible to apply immediately) and willingness to travel overseas for training.
• Willingness to travel domestically to remote project sites across Myanmar on short notice.
• Physically fit, comfortable working at heights on rooftops, and capable of lifting heavy equipment up to 25 kg.
