Job Title : Group Head of Reporting

Function :Finance 

Location : Singapore although travel to Vietnam and Myanmar shall be required

Role Description 

The Group Head of Financial Reporting reports to the Group CFO and oversees the activities described below.   

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Financial Reporting & Audit 

  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures in conformity with the Group’s standards and in accordance with the prevailing accounting standards in which a portfolio business operates  

  • Implement a strong financial control framework and oversee proper usage of the ERP within the finance team 

  • Guide and monitor all transaction cycles, month-end and year-end closing processes for the portfolio businesses   

  • Lead the preparation of monthly reporting packages (by business, division and consolidated) with the support of the local teams 

  • Review the Annual and Interim financial statements prepared by the Vietnam and Myanmar entities 

  • Prepare the Annual and Interim financial statements for the Singapore entities  

  • Prepare the Annual and Interim financial statements for the Group across both Singapore and UK reporting frameworks. Lead the creation of the Annual report 

  • Prepare and review the portfolio businesses consolidated financial statements under the applicable accounting standards 

  • Manage the audit process by working with auditors and advisors to oversee the preparation of accurate annual statutory accounts and tax returns. Be the primary contact for the audit team and facilitate a smooth and efficient process 

Financial Planning & Analysis 

  • Manage and review the budgeting process for portfolio businesses based on a zero-budget approach, together with the portfolio business Financial Controllers 

  • Assist with the KPI selection process and work with divisional managers of portfolio businesses to monitor financial performance through monthly financial analysis (by business, division and consolidated)  

  • Oversee the development and monthly compilation of reporting packages as well as analytical tools that assist divisional managers, in cooperation with the Group CFO and Group COO 

Tax & Compliance 

  • Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements 

  • Coordinate tax filings, with direct responsibility for filings in Singapore  

Mergers & Acquisitions 

  • Support the Business Development team by organizing the accounting of a target company and evaluating its business prospects, holding structure (for tax and reporting purposes) and strength of its balance sheet 

  • Assist with post-merger financial statement reorganization, consolidation and integration 

  • Support with any regulatory requirements including the preparation of pro-forma financial, accounting and regulatory documentation 

Leadership 

  • Continually monitor industry developments, and prepare and deliver training programs to team members to ensure up-to-date accounting practices are implemented throughout the Group 

  • Identify team capability gaps and structure programs and training to fill the gaps 

  • Develop contacts in the industry and identify opportunities and threats to the businesses  

  • Lead by example for the rest of the organization and carefully cultivate a fast-paced and inclusive culture

Job Requirements

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 

  • Accounting certifications (CPA, ACCA or CIMA) required 

  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 7+ years in a managerial role 

  • Thorough understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices, especially with IFRS  

  • Knowledge of the accounting principle across various jurisdictions including U.K., Singapore, Myanmar and Vietnam  

  • Previous experience with acquisitions desirable 

  • Fluent in spoken and written English 

  • Analytical, extremely organized and attentive to detail 

  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results 

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint 

  • Extensive experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) software systems
