Job Title: Associate Teacher - Librarian

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding teacherlibrarian to join our supportive and innovative international school.
The successful candidate will be able to:
● Manage the daily operation of a busy primary school library including:
○ filing and shelving
○ book repairs and labelling
○ maintain the school catalogue including borrowing and returning resources
● Promote the library space across primary, making it a positive and welcoming space for learning
● Set up reading displays and competitions to raise the profile ofreading
● Promote a culture ofreading for pleasure, engaging students in new and unique ways.
● Work with teachers to embed the library and its resources into student’s lessons.
● Support reading sessions with small groups of students.
● Maintain and manage the library as a tidy, accessible and vibrantresource centre which reflects the ethos of the school.
● Supervise and manage student behaviour during their time in the library. This will usually be in collaboration with a teacher.
● Organise and run library clubs and activities for children.
● With advice from the line manager, produce and keep up to date the library development plan as part of the School Improvement Plan.

Experience

• An outstanding subject practitioner who is able to inspire students with an enthusiasm for learning.
• Experience of successful subject teaching in a secondary school.
• Supporting students of all abilities to achieve excellent progress.
• Experience analysing and using data to identify underachievement and inform classroom practice.

Skills, Knowledge and Understanding

• Excellent subject knowledge
• Ability to use AFL strategies to raise attainment and provide differentiated work to meet the needs of all students
• Knowledge and understanding of the monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of students’ progress
• Ability to reflect constructively on the effectiveness of a lesson
• Strong interpersonal, communication and ICT skills In depth knowledge of English National Curriculum and IGCSE and A Level syllabuses
