The National Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing commercial operations at the national level, ensuring the quality of automotive products and services, driving business development initiatives, managing national sales and marketing activities, and strengthening customer relationships to achieve strategic growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Control (Automotive)

  • Develop and maintain national automotive quality control policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of automotive QC processes.
  • Oversee inspection processes for vehicles, components, and aftermarket parts.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and certification requirements.
  • Lead investigations of quality-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality compliance and maintain quality performance dashboards.
  • Monitor warranty trends, product failures, and customer complaints to drive improvement initiatives.
  • Develop quality metrics, KPIs, and performance monitoring dashboards.

2. Business Development

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Formulate and implement strategic plans to grow business
  • Develop national business development strategies to expand market share.
  • Lead negotiations with key clients, suppliers, and strategic partners.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, market intelligence reports, and competitive analysis.
  • Drive dealership expansion programs and national sales growth initiatives.
  • Develop proposals and bids for fleet, corporate, and government contracts.
  • Identify new automotive product lines, market opportunities, and partnership channels.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts.

3. Marketing Management

  • Develop and execute national marketing strategies, campaigns, and brand plans.
  • Oversee digital marketing, advertising, PR, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate product launches, showroom events, roadshows, and promotional campaigns.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all media channels and retail touchpoints.
  • Monitor market trends, customer insights, and competitor offerings.
  • Lead brand development, communication strategy, and marketing campaigns.
  • Manage marketing budgets and assess ROI for campaigns.

4. Commercial Operations

  • Monitor key commercial KPIs including market share, sales volume, profitability, and customer retention.
  • Ensure effective coordination between sales, marketing, quality, and operational teams.
  • Lead national performance reviews and support regional teams in achieving targets.

5. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor teams across QC, BD, and marketing departments.
  • Develop training programs for QC, marketing, and Business Development teams.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate goals and effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Align department goals with the company’s strategic commercial roadmap.
  • Manage budgets, cost optimization, and financial performance.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Commerce, or related field.
  • Master’s degree (MBA) is preferred but not mandatory
  • Professional certifications in Quality Management (ISO 9001, Six Sigma) are an added advantage.
  • Experience

    7–12+ years experience in the automotive sector.
  • Strong background in commercial management, sales, or marketing.
  • Proven experience in automotive quality control and product standards.
  • Experience managing national or multi-regional operations is required.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client acquisition.

  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, components, and QC methodologies.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (ISO guidelines, vehicle inspection procedures).
