1. Primary job responsibility is to manage and oversee the implantation and execution of strategic school operational services initiatives and programs. The Operational Services Manager is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and support of policy and procedures and performance management for school operational and admin services employees covering the following areas: resources management, transportation, food & beverage and property management (security and cleaners)

2. Secondary job responsibility is to develop and maintain favourable government relations in areas that are material to operating the schools services and new or existing school and/or company projects.

3. Prepare and issue manuals and operational handbooks describing school operational services policies and interpret such policy for managers and employees, topics should include but not be limited to:

a) Resource management (Including procurement and uniform)

b) Transportation

c) Food & beverage

d) Property management (maintenance, security and cleaners)

4. Provide leadership, support and performance management appraisals for school operational services staff and administrative staff.

5. Ensure all operation policies at the schools are followed consistently and thoroughly

The Operational Services Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing day-to-day implementation and support of policy and procedures in the following areas:

 

Operations

• Review contract vendor agreements and compliance standards, and support with RFP process

• Revise contractor agreements as necessary

• With the DoB, oversee purchasing policy and procedures including: pricing, competing bids, quality control and delivery

• Oversee management of all contract service vendors including, but not limited to: catering, security, cleaning, landscaping, nursing and bussing

• Organize school relocations within and to new facilities including transportation, breakdown and setup, clean-up, etc.

 

Staff Management

• With the DoB review staffing requirements and develop a manpower plan for current and future school needs

• Take primary performance management responsibility for Operational Services staff:

    -  Create detailed job descriptions

    - Develop annual performance targets

    - Conduct performance reviews

    - Recommend staff adjustments and disciplinary action when necessary

 

Other:

• Review organizational management requirements and, with the DoB, adjust as necessary

• Provide operational feedback and advice on school management issues and new school development plans

• Review contract vendor insurance policies to ensure coverage meets Dulwich College standards

• Perform general duties required

Job Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree (Prefer in Business or related field)
  • lHave at least 5 years of experience in a customer service oriented industry, with experience in the field of education preferable.
  • Be a highly committed team leader with the drive, energy and passion to develop DCY into a high performing and forward looking school.
  • Have excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Perform effectively and with integrity under pressure.
  • Show initiative and pre-empt issues and challenges.
  • Be fluent in both spoken and written English and Burmese.
  • Possess a good understanding of the education system in Myanmar.
  • Be knowledgeable about the College’s guiding statements and provide regular feedback on their ongoing relevance to the operation of the school.
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Possess advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare materials parents, prospective students and senior management.
  • Have excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and work to time-lines.
