Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Purchasing

• Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services according to project requirements.
• Obtain quotations from multiple suppliers and evaluate offers based on price, quality, delivery time, and reliability.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure accurate documentation.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Supplier Management

• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, and service.
• Maintain an approved vendor list and identify alternative suppliers when necessary.
• Resolve supplier-related issues and discrepancies.

Inventory & Logistics Coordination

• Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and warehouse personnel regarding material requirements.
• Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery to project sites.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Coordinate transportation and logistics for purchased materials.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain procurement records, contracts, quotations, and supplier documentation.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and project requirements.
• Assist in preparing procurement reports and cost analyses.
• Verify invoices and supporting documents before payment processing.

Cost Control

• Support budget control by monitoring material costs and procurement expenditures.
• Compare actual purchase costs against budgets and estimates.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and procurement efficiency.

Experience

• 3–5 years of procurement or purchasing experience in the construction industry.
• Experience purchasing construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, MEP materials, finishing materials, and equipment.
• Familiarity with local supplier and contractor markets.

Required Skills

• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of construction materials and procurement processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and procurement software.
• Strong analytical and cost-control abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
