The Regional Sales Manager – Distribution Channel is responsible for driving sales growth and managing distributor operations within a specific region. This role oversees all activities related to sales through distribution networks, ensures the execution of regional sales strategies, and manages relationships with key channel partners. The position requires hands-on leadership, field visits, and close collaboration with distributors, retailers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve regional sales targets through effective distributor management and retail channel engagement.

  • Appoint and manage distributors within the assigned region; monitor their performance and ensure alignment with company standards.

  • Implement trade promotions and local marketing initiatives in coordination with the marketing team.

  • Monitor and analyze regional market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback.

  • Ensure proper stock planning, order processing, and inventory management through distributors.

  • Train, mentor, and support distributor sales representatives and regional sales teams.

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor market execution, retail presence, and distributor performance.

  • Prepare and submit regular sales performance reports, forecasts, and market insights to the National Sales Manager.

  • Ensure compliance with credit terms, pricing policies, and operational standards at the distributor level.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field.

  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.

Experience:

  • 5–7 years of experience in sales and distribution management, preferably in FMCG, consumer durables, or relevant industries.

  • Minimum 2–3 years in a team leader or regional sales role.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of distribution channel dynamics and regional market operations.

  • Proven ability to manage sales targets and build distributor partnerships.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and sales reporting systems.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
