Position Overview

We are looking for a senior level passionate Data Engineer with experience in Data Engineering and a keen interest in the FinTech domain. The ideal Candidate will collaborate closely with the Data team to design, develop, and deploy cloud-based data platform. If you have a penchant for pushing technological boundaries in FinTech and are familiar with Amazon Cloud Platform (AWS) and data engineering/management tools like AWS Redshift, PySpark, AWS S3, EC2, AWS Glue, and Step Functions then we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure efficient and reliable data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Implement data management best practices, including data quality assessment, metadata management, and data governance.
• Design and implement scalable data architectures and cloud (AWS) based data platform to support business intelligence, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in the design and development of data models, data warehouses, and data marts.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates on project status.
• Lead a team of data engineering in applying ETL best practices
• Transform existing SSIS based ETL logics into AWS based data services
• Create technical documents such as solution design, program specifications for target solutions
• Train other team members on how to use the data architecture and ETL processes

• Bachelor or Master's degree in relevant field
• Expert in relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
• Expert in data modeling, data mapping for data lake, data warehouse and data marts theory & methodology
• Expert in data management, data governance, data architecture design
• Strong coding skills in SQL, Python, PL/SQL, T-SQL
• Hands-on experience with data engineering using AWS services such as S3, Lambda,
• Redshift/Spectrum, Glue, DMS and Step Functions
• Must have a background in Data Engineering – data warehouse development experience would be perfect
• Hands-on experience with batch job scheduling and identifying data/job dependencies
• Knowledge about big data processing frameworks like Hadoop, Spark and Databricks

Other must have qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in managing large-scale data initiatives within fast-paced work environments
• Experience with working directly with technical and business teams
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional team
