Job Summary

An Odoo Developer is responsible for leading the design, development, maintaining, customization, and implementation of advanced Odoo ERP solutions aligned with business objectives. This role involves working closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand processes, implement custom modules, integrate third-party systems, and ensure smooth operation of Odoo-based solutions. The Odoo Developer also provides technical support, performs system upgrades, and ensures high performance, security, and scalability of the Odoo platform.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and convert them into effective Odoo ERP solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain Odoo-based applications aligned with business requirements.
• Work across the full stack, including backend (Python, Odoo modules, PostgreSQL) and frontend (OWL, JavaScript, XML, CSS).
• Module architecture: Design & develop complex custom modules from scratch using the Python & Odoo framework.
• Performance Optimization: Audit existing code to improve speed, scalability, & database efficiency.
• Migrations: Lead version upgrades & data migration processes between different Odoo versions & different third-party solutions.
• API Management: Develop & maintain REST/XML - RPC APIs to integrate Odoo with external systems
• System Design: Collaborate with Functional Consultants to translate business needs into robust technical specifications.
• Analyze and optimize Odoo server performance (workers, memory limits, CPU usage).
• Optimize PostgreSQL database queries and indexing for faster transaction processing.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, logs, and bugs in a production environment.
• Monitor system health and implement load balancing if necessary.
• Deployment: Oversee server management (Linux/Ubuntu/OpenSUSE), Odoo installation, & DevOps pipelines (Git, CI/CD)
• Collaborate with functional teams during development, testing, and implementation.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot system issues.
• Gather technical requirements from internal stakeholders and translate them into solution architecture.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
• Document technical specifications, user guides, and system configurations.
• Any task assigned by management.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Over 5 years of experience with python development & at least over 3 years' experience of Odoo version 17/18)
• Module expertise, proven experience with core Odoo modules (Inventory, CRM, Sales, Manufacturing).
• Strong proficiency in Python, Odoo, XML, JavaScript, & PostgreSQL. Hands-on experience in cloud deployment of Odoo using [Odoo.sh], AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Huawei Cloud or Digital Ocean.
• Proficiency with Git (Version Control), Linux server, cloud operation system & SAP Enterprise.
• Deep knowledge of Odoo’s ORM, Owl (Odoo Web Library), and QWeb
• In-depth knowledge of the Odoo framework & core modules
• Familiarity with Odoo POS, Sales, Inventory, HR and Accounting modules.
• Experience with API integrations and module customization.
• Experience integrating Odoo with external systems and ERPs (e.g., SAP or other enterprise systems).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
