Job Description

An Excellent Opportunity for ...

  • Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and verify measurements from drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
  • Manage the tendering and procurement process, including reviewing quotations and preparing commercial comparisons.
  • Evaluate contractor and subcontractor bids and provide commercial recommendations.
  • Prepare, review, and administer interim payment applications and payment certificates.
  • Monitor project costs against approved budgets and provide regular cost reports and forecasts.
  • Manage variations, change orders, claims, and extensions of time from a commercial perspective.
  • Prepare and review final accounts with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Monitor material, labor, and subcontract costs to identify potential cost overruns.
  • Conduct regular site visits to verify progress and quantities.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and support the preparation of commercial agreements.
  • Coordinate with internal site engineer, project engineer and reports to CEO & Project Director.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Typically 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience, with significant experience in a quantity surveying or commercial management role.
  • Experience in the relevant construction sector, such as building, infrastructure, MEP, industrial, or civil works.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying and construction cost management.
  • Good understanding of construction contracts, variations, claims, and procurement.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and quantity surveying/cost management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple commercial priorities.
  • Leadership and team-management capability.
