Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE

To provide operational and customer support for the bank’s general insurance bancassurance business by assisting branches, customers, and internal stakeholders in insurance-related processes. The role aims to ensure smooth policy servicing, effective coordination with partner insurance companies, and high-quality customer service without direct sales target responsibility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide sales and operational support for general insurance products (Motor, Fire, etc.)
  • Support branches, Relationship Managers and Credit Risk- Insurance Ops team in general insurance related processes when required.
  • Track daily / monthly reports and follow up on pending business.
  • Support execution of sales campaigns, dealer programs, and promotional activities.
  • Act as the key contacts between bank branches, insurers, and surveyors.
  • Coordinate inspections (vehicle, fire/property risk surveys) when required.
  • Follow up on underwriting approval, special conditions, and pricing confirmation with insurance companies when required.
  • Verify insurance coverage meets bank credit requirements (e.g., loan-linked insurance)
  • Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, insurer guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain proper filing and system records for audit review and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with insurer, customer and CRD- insurance ops team for claim processing and follow-up when required.
  • Escalate operational or customer service issues to the Bancassurance Business Support Manager.
  • Provide regular updates and operational support information for reporting purposes.
  • Comply with bancassurance guidelines, insurance regulations, and internal policies always.

Job Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

Essential 

  • Basic knowledge of general insurance products (Motor, Fire, Health, Personal Accident, etc.)
  • Understanding of insurance policy issuance, renewal, endorsement, and claims processes
  • Good communication and coordination skills with branches, customers, and insurance partners
  • Customer service–oriented mindset with problem-solving ability
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email communication

Desirable

  • Knowledge of bancassurance operating models and bank branch workflows
  • Familiarity with insurance documentation and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in handling insurance quotations and policy servicing
  • Ability to prepare basic reports and track operational activities

Education & Special Training

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, Engineering, or related fields

Desirable

  • On-the-job training or workshops related to general insurance operations and customer service.

Experience

Essential  

  • At least 2-4 years of experience in banking operations, insurance support, customer service, or a related role

Desirable

  • Prior experience in general insurance, bancassurance, or bank branch support functions
  • Experience in liaising with insurance companies or handling customer insurance inquiries

Languages

Essential  

  • Basic working knowledge of English

Desirable

Additional language skills relevant to customer interaction will be an advantage
