To line manage other staff library staff assigned to the library
To provide reports on issues relating to the library for SLT upon request
To liaise with primary and secondary academic staff in ensuring that the library maintains up to date resources to support teaching and learning.
To initiate and participate, coordinate with other staff members in activities and special events, for example book week, author visits etc to promote the enjoyment of reading coordinating with other staff members.
To plan strategically for the development of the library, especially with regards to blended learning, in consultation with SLT.
To manage and develop the systems and procedures within the library to ensure that they are efficient and understood by staff and students
To be responsible for and monitor library budge
To complete an annual stock check to control and maintain the collections and share the report with the business office.
To issue notice letters regarding late returns or missing books to students and parents.
To liaise with tutors/teachers regarding book returns from students.
To issue and collect textbooks at the start and end of the academic year and provide these for new students on arrival.
To catalogue and classify books, ensuring that the library is organised effectively to meet the needs of the students.
To organise the supply of books for classroom use.
To purchase books, select, order, develop, maintain and withdraw the library collections (both physical and digital) for its development, in consultation coordination with primary and secondary staff.
To promote the access of online library catalogue, books, ebooks, periodicals, online subscription resources, devices or equipments, other library facilities and services that are available at the school library
To ensure that there is adequate supervision in place for break times and all other times where students are in the library without their teachers.
To liaise with classroom teachers in setting up a timetable for library visits.
To provide a stimulating environment for students visiting the library
To support teachers and TAs with reading activities.
To complete other reasonable duties as directed by the line manager.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or relevant degree
Relevant professional certification is an advantage.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience working in a library or educational environment (preferred).
Experience in a school library setting is an asset.
Strong knowledge of library management systems and cataloguing.
Ability to organize, classify, and maintain library resources efficiently.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff and students.
Good computer skills (MS Office, digital databases, online research tools).
