1. Job Summary
The Operations Manager will act as the primary lead for the new Wholesale Distribution
Business Unit during its initial setup phase and continue to run the full operation post-launch.
In the setup phase, the role works closely with the IT Developers to define and implement
business requirements for the ERP system and Mobile Applications (Sales App, Customer App,
Delivery App). Post-launch, the Operations Manager will oversee the entire end-to-end
Wholesale Distribution operation — including aggressive market penetration, new customer
acquisition, sales, warehouse management, logistics, customer retention, and full financial
accountability (P&L) — to ensure rapid revenue growth, operational excellence, and profitability
for the FMCG distribution business.
2. Responsibilities
Setup Phase (Pre-Launch)
• Collaborate with the IT Developers to define functional requirements for the ERP system,
Sales App, Customer App, and Delivery App.
• Lead the mapping and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sales,
warehouse, logistics, and customer service.
• Lead the collection, cleaning, and upload of master data (Customers, Products, Pricing,
Territories).
• Recruit, hire, and onboard the initial team: Field Sales staff, Warehouse Supervisor/Staff,
Inventory Controller, Delivery Drivers & Helpers.
Post-Launch Operations & Business Leadership
• Market Penetration & Sales Growth: Design and execute strategies to acquire new
convenience stores and retail shops in target territories. Lead the Field Sales team to meet
monthly targets for new shop openings.
Customer Onboarding & Retention: Oversee digital registration of new customers via
the Customer App. Develop and manage loyalty programs, promotions, and service
standards to achieve high repeat-order rates.
• Daily Operations Oversight: Manage warehouse stock-in/out, inventory accuracy,
expiry/damage control (FIFO), delivery scheduling, and route optimization.
• Sales & Revenue Management: Monitor daily/weekly sales performance and field staff
productivity through the Sales App dashboard. Ensure monthly BU revenue targets are
achieved.
• Logistics & Service Excellence: Ensure timely and accurate deliveries to prevent
customer complaints.
• Financial Accountability: Manage the Business Unit’s operating budget, fuel costs, staff
costs, and P&L. Focus on revenue growth versus operating expenses (including damages
and expiry losses).
• Customer Relationship Management: Handle high-level complaints and disputes with
key convenience store owners to maintain long-term relationships.
• Competitor Monitoring: Track competitor pricing, promotions, and activities;
recommend adjustments to Company’s strategy.
• Team Leadership: Provide day-to-day leadership to the cross-functional team (Sales,
Warehouse, Logistics) and ensure high performance and discipline.
