Job Summary

The Project Manager (Civil) is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering civil construction projects safely, on time, within budget, and according to the required quality standards. The role oversees project execution from planning and mobilization through completion and handover, while coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Management

• Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, and execution strategies.
• Manage project activities to ensure timely completion according to approved schedules.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential delays, risks, and required corrective actions.
• Coordinate project resources, including manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Ensure project activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.

2. Site & Construction Management

• Oversee day-to-day civil construction activities and site operations.
• Ensure construction works are executed according to approved drawings, method statements, and specifications.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, QA/QC, HSE, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Review construction methodologies and provide technical guidance when required.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.

3. Cost & Budget Control

• Monitor project costs against the approved budget.
• Control material, manpower, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Review and verify variations, additional works, and claims.
• Coordinate with the QS/Commercial team regarding project cost, payment, and contractual matters.
• Take appropriate actions to minimize unnecessary project costs.

4. Quality Management

• Ensure construction works meet required quality standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC team to implement inspection and testing procedures.
• Review and resolve quality issues, defects, and non-conformities.
• Ensure proper documentation of inspections, testing, and approvals.

5. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and applicable safety requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the project team and construction sites.
• Coordinate with the HSE team to identify and mitigate site risks.
• Take immediate corrective action when unsafe practices or conditions are identified.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and submit regular project progress reports to management.
• Monitor project schedules, manpower, materials, equipment, costs, and overall progress.
• Ensure proper maintenance of project records, drawings, approvals, correspondence, and other documentation.
• Review and approve relevant project reports and submissions.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and Relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in civil construction/project management, with relevant experience in a Project Manager or senior project management role.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, project planning, quality control, and site management.
• Experience in managing contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and project teams.
• Good understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and project documentation. Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Good knowledge of construction planning and scheduling.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Good communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Strong understanding of construction safety and quality requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera P6, MS Office, and other relevant construction/project management software.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.
