The Project Manager for the SME & Business Banking Business Unit will play a crucial role in driving the development of SMEs in Myanmar and ensuring that the Bank's customers receive top-notch services. As the Project Manager, the position holder will be responsible for leading SMEBB business projects and overseeing their successful completion from start to finish. This involves coordinating with various teams, stakeholders, and partners, developing project plans, setting timelines, and monitoring progress to ensure that the projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The position holder must possess excellent project management skills and have a solid understanding of project management methodologies and the best stakeholders management which will have a significant impact on the Bank's customers and the SMEs in Myanmar.

  • Lead and execute business process improvements for project planning and execution, ensuring project goals and objectives are met within budget, scope, and schedule.
  • Assess new opportunities and develop growth strategies to meet the needs of existing and prospective clients, improving the bank's market share.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Manage project risks and issues, develop contingency plans, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Communicate project progress, status, and risks to stakeholders and reporting seniors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and partners.
  • Monitor and report project performance metrics, ensuring adherence to project management best practices.
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration, open communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize project management tools to track action items and highlight roadblocks and challenges to progress the project.
  • Work with different business units to train sales teams during the launch of new and exisiting products and solutions.

In addition, the role holder will also be accountable for one of the following portfolios:

Marketing and Customer Service:

  • Manage marketing and public relations campaigns for new customer acquisition and products and services promotions.
  • Collaborate with the MarComms Function to ensure consistency in branding guidelines, templates, and reports.
  • Collaborate with marketing and e-commerce specialists to build competencies in the use of marketing technologies and social media.
  • Collaborate with the Virtual Branch Function to develop an end-to-end client experience journey and capture ongoing feedback.

Stakeholder Management & Relationship Building:

  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with various stakeholders, including:
    • Local SMEs
    • Regional and international communities and organizations
    • Government administration bodies and Ministries
    • Branch Ops and Territory Branches
    • Cross Functional & Business Units

Technology:

  • Collaborate with the Technology Function to maintain high technical standards and champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and agile practices.
  • Ensure the Value Centre receives the highest standards of technology services and support needed to drive desired business results.

Business Banking coverage

  • Work closely with Territory Branch Operations Heads, Human Resource Function and branches across Myanmar in the formation of a new initiative Territory Relationship Manager (TRM) role for branches, that will be key accelerators of acquiring 1 million+ business customers that have been identified.

Job Requirements

  • University graduate with relevant disciplines;
  • Project Management Studies / Certificate
  • Excellent in English and Myanmar
  • 2-4  years of experience in banking product & process development
  • Possesses wide-ranging industry experience, uses professional concepts to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
  • Independently manage a team or processes within a Value Centre
  • Technical knowledge & skills with strong business acumen
  • Customer-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication & strong interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with customers and stakeholders
  • Team player & trustworthy
