Cover Myanmar is seeking a Retail Manager to manage the daily operations and performance of an assigned store. The role is responsible for achieving sales targets, leading the store team, maintaining accurate stock records, and ensuring good customer service and compliance with company standards.
Job Description

• Manage the store’s daily operations and ensure that staff follow company policies, operating procedures, and service standards.
• Review the store’s sales results and target achievement. Develop practical plans to improve sales and follow up on the results.
• Plan staff assignments and schedules to ensure adequate staffing and smooth daily operations.
• Monitor daily store workflows to ensure that product displays, price labels, store cleanliness, staff presentation, and customer service meet company standards.
• Monitor fast-moving items, stock shortages, slow-moving items, and products that are damaged or nearing expiry. Coordinate with Purchasing and stock teams as needed.
• Oversee physical stock counts and review stock movements and discrepancies with responsible staff. Investigate the causes and report corrective actions.
• Oversee controls relating to cash handling, product loss, purchasing processes, and supplier dealings. Escalate irregularities promptly.
• Resolve customer complaints promptly and improve store processes to prevent recurring issues.
• Assess the performance of Section Heads and sales staff. Provide coaching and training to improve product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service.
• Review customer needs, market trends, and competitor activity. Recommend improvements to product selection, pricing, and promotions through the company’s approval process.

• A bachelor’s degree in any field. A qualification in Business Management, Sales, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in retail operations or store management, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong understanding of sales targets, customer service, product knowledge, stock control, and daily store operations.
• Ability to analyze sales and operational reports and turn findings into practical improvement plans for the store.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to manage Section Heads and sales staff.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
