This is an excellent role for someone who is detail-oriented, strategic in thinking, and confident in both written and verbal communication in Myanmar and English. Strong legal drafting skills and litigation experience are essential.

Main Duties

• Provide legal advice on commercial, civil, and criminal-related commercial disputes
• Draft legal documents such as plaints, applications, and written statements for court use
• Review contracts and dispute-related documents, and prepare legal opinions
• Attend and represent clients at court hearings, including oral pleadings
• Prepare summaries and memos of court hearings for clients
• Meet with clients to explain legal procedures and next steps in litigation
• Review employment contracts and provide advice
• Draft complaints for submission to the Arbitration Body or Arbitration Council (in labour disputes)
• Advise on dispute resolution clauses and governing law in contracts
• Assist senior advocates with appeals to the Supreme Court
• Conduct legal research, especially on case law for appeal applications

Requirements

• Licensed Myanmar lawyer with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm
• Solid experience in litigation with strong legal drafting and courtroom skills
• Fluent in both Myanmar and English (written and spoken)
• Commercial awareness and strong client service focus
• Able to work under pressure and manage deadlines
