Role Overview:
The Senior Procurement Manager – Upper Country will oversee procurement operations in the Mandalay region, ensuring the efficient sourcing, acquisition, and delivery of goods and services necessary to support WBG’s production and commercial activities. This role focuses on developing local supplier networks, managing procurement processes, and ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality supplies. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the Head of Procurement’s strategic goals while addressing the specific needs of the Upper Country region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regional Procurement Execution:
• Execute procurement strategies and policies established by the Head of Procurement.
• Manage day-to-day procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Identify and address regional procurement challenges and opportunities.
2. Supplier Management and Development:
• Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with local suppliers and vendors in Upper Country.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve cost-efficiency and quality.
• Ensure suppliers meet company standards for quality, reliability, and compliance.
3. Cost Control and Budget Management:
• Monitor regional procurement budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Track expenditures and ensure procurement activities align with financial targets.
4. Inventory and Logistics Coordination:
• Work closely with logistics and warehouse teams to manage inventory levels and streamline supply chains.
• Ensure procurement schedules align with production demands and delivery timelines.
5. Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies and legal requirements.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks specific to the Mandalay region.
6. Operational Efficiency:
• Implement procurement best practices to improve operational efficiency.
• Utilize procurement systems and tools to track and manage procurement activities.
7. Reporting and Analysis:
• Provide regular procurement reports and updates to the Head of Procurement.
• Analyze procurement data to identify trends, performance metrics, and improvement areas.
8. Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead, mentor, and train junior procurement staff in the Upper Country region.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
