Purpose /Mission

• To ensure the Operational Process lines associated plant operate at optimum performance.
• To keep the factory running smoothly, perform maintenance on Electrical, Instrument, Automation equipment
• The position is for shift roster. Day/Afternoon/Night.
• To demonstrate a culture of excellence in Safety, Efficiency, Reliability and Teamwork.
• To identify cost effective solutions to minimize the future Operational cost base.

Safety

• Carry out duties in accordance with JFE Meranti’s safety, environmental and people policy, safety principles, corporate values and strategies
• Proactively be engaged in supporting a strong safety culture. Attend toolbox meetings. Engage in safety behaviours and recognizing unsafe acts and working closely with workforce to build their safety culture.
• Wear suitable protective clothing for the different types of work to guard against hazards.
• To model strong Safety Leadership, excellent work practices and attitude, and to train and deploy good practices in a friendly manner.
• To ensure both unplanned and planned work are conducted in a way that does not expose people to high level risk of injury. Utilize the JMM Safety Management system with a special focus on critical risks such as Working at heights, Gas, Chemical, Hot Metal, Electrical power, Cranes and Heavy vehicle/pedestrian interface.
• Electrical and High voltage systems contain massive energy that represents significant risk to personnel and plant. Engender a culture that does not take risks such as exposure to live conductors, slow closing of any circuit breakers, non-testing before touching equipment etc, and this needs to apply in a 24-hour rotating shift basis.

Problem solving/Trouble shooting

• Provide a quick response to operational process lines problems to achieve optimum performance.
• Participate in Apollo 5 Why problem-solving exercises to quickly and efficiently get to true root cause thereby minimizing plant downtime and maximizing product quality.
• Utilize excellent communication among teams, workforce and managers.

Inspection, Repairs and Maintenance

• Maintain a set of tools and test equipment in good working order
• Be able to conduct repairs and maintain equipment with a level of precision that does not induce further failures.
• Assist with continuous improvement of Electrical procedures for all plant.
• Ensure Electrical drawings are always kept up to date.

• Shift Reporting

• Record various failures, incidents, investigations into the various corporate reporting systems.

• Project Work

• Design of various infrastructure projects in accordance with design briefs and directions, applying best practice design principles and standards

• Training

• Participate in plant training programs.
• Undertake professional and personal development to complement on job learning.
• Attend local training facilities to complete further training where deemed necessary to compliment your position.

• Intellectual Property (IP)

  IP is well detailed in employment contracts and it is of the utmost importance that you play a proactive and enthusiastic role to ensure JFE Meranti does not disclose IP.

Job Requirement

Profile 5 to 10 years of experience in heavy industry

Knowledge of instrumentation, process control, VFAC Drives, Induction heating, X-ray control, Overhead cranes, building light, power, automation control.

The ability to use hand skill to perform trouble shooting and maintenance on all plant equipment.

Experience with siemens PLC's, Siemens VFAC drives.

Desire to learn Electrical equipment, Instrumentation and process control.

Strong ability to multitask and prioritize mutiple tasks.

Proactive, well organized and continuously striving for an exciting efficient approach.

Excellent communication and reporting skills.
