Job Summary
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse and store operations related to construction materials, equipment, tools, and consumables. The role ensures proper receiving, storage, inventory control, issuance, and documentation of materials to support construction projects while minimizing losses and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory records for construction materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials.
Conduct regular stock counts and periodic inventory audits.
Investigate and report inventory discrepancies.
Material Receiving and Storage
Verify quantities and quality of incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery notes.
Ensure proper storage and preservation of materials to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss.
Implement FIFO (First-In-First-Out) practices where applicable.
Coordinate with Procurement and Site Teams regarding deliveries and material requirements.
Material Issuance and Control
Issue materials according to approved Material Requisition Forms (MRF).
Maintain records of all material movements and transactions.
Monitor usage patterns and identify abnormal consumption or wastage.
Control and track returnable materials and tools.
Documentation and Reporting
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and stock movement reports.
Maintain Goods Received Notes (GRN), Store Issue Vouchers (SIV), and stock cards.
Ensure all documentation is properly filed and updated.
Generate reports on slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory.
Warehouse Operations
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety of the store area.
Implement proper labeling and storage systems.
Supervise store assistants and warehouse personnel.
Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations.
Coordination
Work closely with Procurement, Quantity Surveyors, Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure material availability.
Support project teams in planning and forecasting material requirements.
Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams regarding deliveries and returns.
