Vice President (Card And Payment)

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end payment solutions, including card issuance, payment processing, mobile wallets, and digital payment platforms.
• Ensure seamless integration of card and payment systems with internal platforms (e.g., core banking systems, fraud detection) and external networks (e.g., Visa, Mastercard)
• Create architectures that support high-volume transactions, low latency, and system scalability.
• Work closely with business analysts, developers, product managers, operation team and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Evaluate third-party vendors for payment gateways, fraud management systems, and hardware like ATM, POS or card issuance machines.
• Ensure solutions comply with PCI DSS, EMVCo, GDPR, and local regulatory requirements.
• Implement robust encryption, tokenization, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to secure payment data.
• Define the technical roadmap for card and payment systems, aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
• Establish and enforce architectural standards, coding best practices, and system monitoring protocols.
• Regularly evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Support troubleshooting of critical payment system issues and guide resolution strategies.
• Maintain effective communication with vendors, ensuring they are aware of project milestones, organizational goals
• Effective vendors management to sort out BAU issues and Scheme mandates
• Coordinate with project team members to ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks.
• Take charge of planning, execution, escalation, and completion of System Integration Testing and support to User Acceptance Testing by Business Team or Operation Team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master’s degree or certifications in Solution Architecture, Cloud Architecture, or relevant technologies are a plus.
• 8+ years in IT, including at least 5-6 years in payment systems, card management, or fintech solutions.
• Proven track record of designing and deploying card and payment solutions.
• Expertise in card management systems (CMS), payment gateways, and EMV chip personalization.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and enterprise service buses (ESB).
• Deep knowledge of PCI DSS, TLS, and cryptographic techniques (e.g., PKI, HSM).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Deep understanding of card products (credit, debit, prepaid) and payment lifecycle (authorization, clearing, settlement).
• Awareness of trends like BNPL, digital wallets, and real-time payments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Leadership and ability to mentor technical teams.
