The kind of jobs that you will find in electronics and electrical equipment in Myanmar could be anywhere in the process from the invention of the product, all the way through to the purchase of the product, and then even further as electrical equipment needs maintenance. Thus a job in electronics and electrical can fall anywhere within that realm. An electrical engineer will invent product (which could be basically anything using electricity), then the quality controller will ensure it works (every time), then the next jobs in electronic equipment involve logistics and transport and getting the goods from the factory to their destination (which could be national or international) and ultimately into the hands of the consumer From here, jobs in electrical equipment are more customer service orientated, such as working in an electronic goods or selling mobile phones in electronics shops. Often, someone selling mobile phones will also be a phone technician, in order to be able to fix a customer’s phone if they are having problems with it. For all of these roles both communication skills and technical knowledge are required. Mobile phones are by no means the sole product that needs maintenance but they may be considered a good example as the growth of smartphone adoption in Myanmar has been among the fastest on the planet. When you think about how many thing in this day and age use electricity, you start thinking that there really is no limit to the type of jobs involved. The possibilities span all industries.
Electronics and electrical equipment by some may be considered status symbols, which means there is much competition for the consumer dollar. Adding to this, technology is moving incredibly fast. Thus, the jobs in electrical and electrical equipment are not restricted to the very few mentioned above. To get a job in electronics and electrical equipment depends on the functions of the job. For example, to work in customer service, a college degree is not necessarily required, but good communication, a knowledge of various products and an ability to keep up with the moving technology are. From a customer service role one may move up to a shift supervisor or go into sales, as there is a sales aspect to customer service and that is a typically a natural progression. Working in sales is a highly target and performance based career, but can also be well paid. From a sales role, one may evolve to become a sales manager, and then even a regional sales manager, at which point some further education may be required. For those not so sales orientated, they may move into a role as a human resources administrator, and take a career path in that direction. To acquire a role in the engineering part of electrical equipment requires a degree, and in most cases a specialised one. Engineers normally start out their college degree with similar subjects such as maths and science, and then specialise in the later years. From there they will take on an internship and progress with their speciality. Engineers working in electrical equipment need to not only be creative (more on the product design side) but surely be analytical as well.
