On 23rd September 2025, JobNet Group proudly hosted the Myanmar Professional HR Series seminar. The event welcomed over 270 HR professionals and business leaders, all coming together to explore the evolving role of how HR can play a pivotal role in shaping future-ready businesses.
This event featured 2 panel discussions, conducted in both English and Myanmar languages, led by respected business leaders and HR experts from Myanmar’s leading companies, focusing on how past learnings and strategic HR foundations can drive business growth and talent success.
The seminar opened with a welcome note from Mr. Justin Sway, CEO of JobNet Group, who reinforced JobNets commitment to the Myanmar Market and the greater HR community. In addition, Mr. Justin Sway discussed the launch of JobNet.com.kh website, an exciting milestone that emphasises the need for innovation in e-recruitment and talent acquisition across Southeast Asia.
Following the welcome, Mr. Sean Hope shared the Myanmar Market insights update highlighting the rise in job postings across JobNet.com.mm and Alote.com.mm, reflecting stronger hiring activity in Myanmar. He stressed the four fundamentals of recruitment success: Employer Branding, attractive company profiles, clear job titles, and compelling job descriptions to attract and retain the best talent in the market.
Mr. Sean Hope also introduced JobNet’s new Optimise IQ Training Webinars, a new program designed to help JobNet clients optimise their use of the JobNet suite of integrated e-recruitment products and services. The program aims to help ensure maximum hiring efficiency, enabling companies to attract the right talent and ultimately hire faster. The first Optimise IQ webinar will take place on 20th November 2025.

This session explored how lessons from the past continue to shape strategic planning for the future, the importance of crisis management planning and HR strategies that enhance employee engagement, boost morale, strengthen employer branding, and ultimately attract and retain top talent.
A key takeaway from the panel was a strong consensus among the speakers that employer branding must go beyond marketing claims; companies need to genuinely reflect their promises by caring for employees and demonstrating it through action. Authenticity in employer branding was highlighted as essential for building trust, engagement, and long-term talent retention.
Following the panel, Ms. Hnin Yadanar Htun, Business Development Manager – Corporate Solutions at Dai-ichi Life Insurance Myanmar, delivered a presentation titled “Redefining Worklife”. The presentation explored insurance services offered that can be beneficial for HR managers and leaders to support their employees’ wellbeing and incorporate into employer benefits packages.

The second panel, conducted in Myanmar language, focused on setting the HR foundations to support organisational strategy and long-term vision.
A key discussion emphasised the balance HR must maintain between meeting business objectives and addressing employee needs. Panelists agreed that HR cannot know the needs of every individual staff member directly, collaboration with team leaders, managers and department heads is essential to understand team requirements in order to implement effective strategies. The panel also addressed the importance of ensuring employee well-being during times of uncertainty, enhancing employee value propositions, and leveraging emerging technologies to remain competitive in talent acquisition and retention.
