ROLE PURPOSE 

Credit Risk Officer will be assisting the team leader for analyzing credit proposals for new and existing clients in accordance with financial performance to alleviate Financial Risk, and assesing of repayment capacities and capabilities. This role is specifically assigned to deal with Chinese investments in Garment sector and other specific industrial sectors.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• This is a key strategic role in the credit risk team accountable for optimizing credit risk analysis processes of the diversified portfolio of Myanmar’s leading Chinese investments who are the bank’s Corporate customer segments. 

• Primarily accountable for credit risk assessment and recommendation for the Corporate Banking in line with the bank’s risk appetite, credit policy and banking regulations. 

• Partner product and relationship teams to optimize credit structuring to support customer’s requirements while mitigating key risks. 

• Support implementing and managing policy, guidelines and procedures to enhance business credit decisions, ensure early identification and management of credit stress/concentrations and optimize the risk reward of the portfolio. 

• Support execution of Yoma Bank’s vision to build a better Myanmar. 

• Perform additional assignments as necessary. 

Experience 

• Basic business knowledge, MS office suite and basic work experience preferred.

Knowledge & Skills 

• Consistent work on various projects, self-reliantly and achieved required objectives with limited supervision. 

• Ability to work within a team environment, interact with peers and management within the bank as well as with the other departments. 

Education & Special Training 

• University degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics / Engineering / Foreign Language (Chinese) or otherwise quantitative field. 

Languages 

• Good communication skill in Chinese. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills besides strong analytical, problem solving and presentation skills. 

• Proficiency in English Presentation and Communication highly desirable.
