Position Purpose

Wave Money recognizes that serious financial hardships are ahead for many people in Myanmar, particularly as economic experts are predicting several new million people could fall into poverty this year alone. Poor financial literacy often makes things worse, as people are more likely to make poor financial & life decisions with lasting impact on the livelihood of themselves and their families. To address this challlenge, the Financial Literacy Program Manager at Wave will be responsible for planning and implementing a financial literacy program that targets most vulnerable groups of people across the country. Projects will focus on joining forces with NGO’s to jointly reach and improve lives of vulnerable groups utlizing the Wave capabilities.

Key Result Areas

1.    Financial literacy program designed based on clear picture of target groups & their needs
2.    Development of detailed project plan for 2022 and key outcomes
3.    Clear roadmap for successful partnership with project partner (e.g. NGO)
4.    Project management/execution according to planned activities and timeline
5.    Effective stakeholder management for all stakeholders in project
6.    Development of case studies and annual impact report

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• •    Develop approach and scope of Wave financial literacy program based on understanding of needs of identified target groups
  •    Project management of projects including monitoring timelines, planning meetings and follow ups
  •    Develop necessary documents and communication material
  •    Develop and execute necessary reporting including impact reporting & case studies
  •    Manage relationships with program partners 

Competencies

•    Minimum 5 years at NGO / Development Organization/ Corporate Social Responsibility Teams, directly managing end-to-end projects, preferably for Financial Inclusion, with proven track record of success;
•    Bias for execution and tangible outcomes
•    Excellent stakeholder management skills including negotiation and problem-solving
•    Strong English communication skills (speaking, reading, writing and listening);
•    Experience in management project costs and budgets;
•    Ability to work independently or with minimum supervision;
