Job Summary
The IT Support Engineer Intern will assist the technical team in providing IT infrastructure support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and participating in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in enterprise IT and cybersecurity environments.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Provide first-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Install and configure Windows operating systems and common software applications.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist in user account creation and password resets.
- Support Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications.
Network Support
- Assist in installing and configuring switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls.
- Support LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
- Help with network cable installation, labeling, and testing.
- Monitor network connectivity and report issues.
Server & Storage Support
- Assist with server installation and basic configuration.
- Support NAS and backup system deployment.
- Monitor server health and system performance.
Security Support
- Assist with antivirus and endpoint security deployment.
- Support firewall policy implementation under supervision.
- Help maintain IT security documentation.
- Follow cybersecurity best practices.
Project Support
- Assist engineers during customer site installations and maintenance.
- Prepare installation checklists and documentation.
- Update project progress reports.
- Assist in hardware inventory and asset management.
Documentation
- Prepare service reports after customer visits.
- Maintain technical documentation and asset records.
- Record customer issues and resolutions.
