An Excellent Opportunity for ...

The Senior Field Officer is the "Bridge Builder." This role is responsible for maintaining the social and professional fabric of the contract farming model by managing relationships with both the farming community and government stakeholders (DOA). 

  • Identify and recruit "small scale" farmers who meet the criteria for the pilot operation.
  • Structure and explain the terms of the contract farming agreement to ensure 100% farmer comprehension and voluntary participation.
  • Organize the formal "Contract Signing" events between the company and individual farmer groups
  • Maintain a constant presence in the field to act as the "face of the project" for all contracted farmers
  • Liaise with regional DOA officers to stay updated on local agricultural policies, subsidies, or pest outbreaks.
  • Coordinate with government extension workers to leverage public resources for farmer training.
  • Ensure the project’s field activities comply with national agricultural laws and landuse regulations.
  • Monitor farmer sentiment to identify early signs of "side-selling" or dissatisfaction.
  • Resolve disputes regarding crop weighing, grading, or payment delays at the farm gate.
  • Manage the "Social License to Operate" by ensuring the company remains a respected entity in the local area.
  • Lead and mentor a team of junior field staff to ensure consistent messaging and high integrity data collection.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Agriculture
  • Minimum 3 years of field experience
  • Must be fluent in local dialects and willing to travel extensively.
