Job Purpose

Lead and manage construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards, contract requirements, statutory regulations, and organizational objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day execution of construction activities, ensuring all works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Develop, review, and monitor overall project schedules and contractors' detailed work programs to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Coordinate and facilitate design, technical, and progress meetings with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Review construction methodologies, material selections, shop drawings, and technical submissions to ensure practicality, compliance, constructability, and project efficiency.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary works and resolve design, technical, construction, and site-related issues to minimize delays and conflicts.
  • Manage contractors, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure contractual obligations, project specifications, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Monitor construction progress through regular site inspections and implement corrective actions where necessary to maintain project milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, statutory regulations, company policies, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
  • Monitor and control project documentation, including shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, inspection requests, and approval processes.
  • Coordinate inspection, testing, commissioning, and project close-out activities to ensure systems and facilities are fully operational and compliant with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quantity Surveying to review material requisitions, work progress, variation orders, payment claims, and commercial matters.
  • Prepare and submit regular project progress reports, presentations, meeting minutes, risk assessments, and executive updates for management review.
  • Identify project risks, evaluate mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve issues affecting project cost, quality, scope, or schedule.
  • Coordinate with relevant authorities and consultants for project approvals, permits, amendments, inspections, and statutory submissions.
  • Lead and motivate project team members, providing guidance, technical support, and performance oversight to ensure effective project execution.
  • Coordinate project handover activities, ensuring all documentation, testing records, warranties, and as-built drawings are completed and transferred to the Operations or Facilities Management team.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure proper documentation, record management, and project filing throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by management.

Job Requirements

  • BE (Civil)
  • Professional Engineer (PE), PMP, or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in construction project management.
  • At least 5 years in a senior project management role managing large-scale commercial, residential, mixed-use, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams, consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
